Welcome to Tiffany’s Riding Centre – Explore the Algarve’s natural countryside with us
Established in 1988, Tiffany’s Riding Centre offers a unique and memorable horse riding experience set amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of the western Algarve. Nestled between rolling hills and sun-drenched coastline, our centre is ideally located just a short distance from Lagos, Praia da Luz, Burgau, and Salema – making it the perfect retreat for both locals and visitors seeking a peaceful escape into nature.
With over three decades of experience, we not only offer exceptional horse riding but also bring a deep understanding of the region’s rich history, culture, and social landscape. Whether you’re curious about the ancient cork industry, the traditional rural way of life, or the changing face of the Algarve over the years, your ride can also become a journey through the stories of this captivating land.
We pride ourselves on our warm, family-run atmosphere and welcoming, international environment. English and Portuguese are spoken fluently, with some German and French also available, helping riders from around the world feel at home from the moment they arrive.
At Tiffany’s, our approach to riding is both traditional and holistic. We practice English-style riding and use bitless bridles, including Dr. Cook designs, with many of our horses, offering a kinder, more mindful experience that supports the well-being of both horse and rider. Many of our horses are barefoot or only shod on the front hooves, according to what suits them best. We continually invest in modern, up-to-date tack and equipment, and a UK-qualified saddler visits us regularly to assess and ensure the perfect saddle fit for every horse.

Our diverse and well-loved herd includes elegant Lusitanos, sturdy warmbloods, gentle ponies, homebred horses, and impressive heavy French breeds.
We welcome riders of all abilities – from first-timers taking the reins for the very first time, to confident riders seeking a more advanced adventure. Group rides are thoughtfully tailored to the level of the least experienced rider, and private rides are also available for a more personal experience.
Every ride is a guided journey through the unspoiled Algarve countryside. Our trails wind through ancient cork oak groves, shady pine forests, and past almond and fig trees that scent the air with the sweetness of the seasons. The landscape is alive with wildflowers, especially in spring, creating vibrant carpets of colour underfoot. From butterflies to birdsong, and the occasional sighting of native wildlife, there’s a quiet magic in every step of the journey.
You’ll explore peaceful tracks and hidden pathways, far from the noise of traffic, with minimal roadwork and maximum immersion in nature. The terrain is rich in biodiversity, offering a stunning backdrop of coastal hills, valleys, and wild scrubland teeming with life. It’s a chance to ride not just through nature, but with it – in harmony with your horse and the land beneath your feet.
Safety and welfare are at the heart of everything we do – for both our horses and our riders. We believe in creating a calm, respectful bond between horse and human, and every experience is guided with care, professionalism, and a love for what we do.
Come ride with us and discover the Algarve as you’ve never seen it before – slowly, soulfully, and side by side with some of the most wonderful horses you’ll ever meet.
The Team
Tiffany Foy Nazar
Tiffany has been pony-mad from a very young age, and her love of horses has shaped her life ever since. Her journey with horses took a special turn when her dad bought the family farm while on holiday in 1982. The following year, Tiffany’s family moved here so they could finally have horses of their own — a dream that eventually led to the creation of Tiffany’s Riding Centre in 1988.

Over the years, Tiffany has gained extensive experience teaching riders of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners finding their confidence for the first time, to advanced riders preparing for competitions. She has competed in National and International Show Jumping, as well as regional Dressage, bringing a wealth of knowledge, skill, and empathy to every lesson she gives.
Tiffany holds the qualifications of F.E.P. Monitor & Responsável Técnico (equivalent to B.H.S. II), as well as Docente de Plena Natureza and de Equitação Terapêutica, and combines this expertise with a warm, patient, and encouraging approach that makes every rider feel welcome and supported.
She has also trained as a TREC judge for both National and International competitions.
Today, Tiffany focuses mainly on the day-to-day running of the centre, overseeing lessons, livery, and administration — though she still misses the thrill of riding herself. Her vision has always been, and continues to be, creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where horses and riders alike can thrive. For Tiffany, the centre is more than a business — it’s a community, a passion, and a place where lifelong friendships are formed.
As a side note Tiffany is also a qualified Tree Surgeon and also has to manage her time with that side of the Business as well as General Farm management growing hay and oversseeing the fowl, horses, dogs, sheep and pigs.

competitors, and has competed in National and International TREC competitions, as well as regional Show Jumping and Dressage shows.
Before focusing on teaching, Deborah’s first love was horse racing, and she spent time backing horses and working in racing stables in the UK. Her adventures even took her to Australia for a year, where she travelled and gained more experience with horses. She eventually brought back her mare, Daffs, who now forms part of the farm’s bloodline and is an ancestor to several of the horses here.
Deborah combines her experience, pioneering spirit, and adventurous nature with a calm, encouraging approach, helping riders build confidence, skill, and a true connection with their horses. Her knowledge, dedication, and love of horses make her an integral part of the Tiffany’s Riding Centre family.
The Volunteers
Claire Gorrie
Claire became part of the Tiffany’s Riding Centre family through a shared love of horses. Although she and Tiffany didn’t actually meet while working at the same stables in Richmond Park, London, a mutual friend brought them together – and Claire started volunteering with us back in 2000. Since then, she’s become not just an important part of the team, but a wonderful friend too.

Volunteers & Helpers
At Tiffany’s Riding Centre, we’re lucky to have a wonderful group of volunteers and helpers who bring energy, enthusiasm, and extra hands to everything we do. Some of our volunteers were once young riders here themselves, returning to share their love of horses. Others come through Erasmus programs or are seeking a life-changing environment, drawn by the spirit of the centre and its community.
