Our Rides

Pony Rides

Our gentle and engaging Pony Rides last approximately 20 minutes and are perfect for children aged 4 to 9 years old with little or no riding experience. Each pony is led by a friendly guide on foot, ensuring a safe, supportive, and fun experience for every young rider. The ride takes place entirely at a walk along a quiet track around our Quinta, where children can enjoy meeting friendly farm animals, spotting sculptures, and discovering quirky art installations – and don’t forget to look out for our resident peacocks!

Farm Rides

Our Farm Rides are designed for riders aged 10 and up, including adults looking for a short, easy introduction to horseback riding. This 20-minute walk-only ride follows a peaceful route around our Quinta, offering a relaxing experience surrounded by nature, farm animals, sculptures, and unique art installations. Each horse is accompanied by a guide on foot to provide a safe, calm, and enjoyable ride for everyone.

Beginners Ride

This 1 hour and 20-minute ride is perfect for those new to riding. Suitable for ages 6 and up, the experience begins with a 20-minute introduction in our riding arena where you’ll learn the basics of countryside riding. This is followed by an hour-long guided ride into the local countryside. The pace is slow and steady, typically walking, with the possibility of a gentle trot depending on the group’s confidence and ability. This ride is focused on building comfort and enjoyment in the saddle while enjoying the views from a higher vantage point – it is not a fast-paced ride.

Country Ride

Lasting approximately an hour, this ride is designed for riders who already have some basic riding experience. Suitable for ages 6 and up, it explores the surrounding countryside with the opportunity to ride at all three gaits – walk, rising trot, and canter – if all riders within the group are capable. It’s a relaxed and enjoyable way to explore more of the landscape on horseback.

Pathfinder Ride

This 2-hour experience is tailored for riders with a bit more confidence and skill. Suitable for ages 8 and up, it takes you deeper into the local countryside, occasionally passing through nearby villages and including some light roadwork. We may also begin with a short 20-minute session in our arena to review riding basics before setting off. It’s a great step up for riders ready to venture further afield.

Safari Ride

For experienced riders aged 10 and up, this approximately 3-hour ride offers an immersive journey through the Algarve landscape. You’ll travel through countryside and villages, and – conditions permitting – even reach forestry land or parts of the nearby National Park. This ride includes varied terrain and paces and requires both rider competence and suitable weather conditions for the full experience.

Adventure Ride

The Adventure Ride is a full-day experience for confident, experienced riders aged 12 and over. With approximately five hours of riding across a seven-hour day, the journey begins with a three-hour morning ride, followed by a two-hour break for lunch, and finishes with a two-hour ride back to the stables (10.00 to 17.00).
This extended route takes you through some of the Algarve’s most diverse and beautiful landscapes. You’ll explore abandoned farms, wind through Cork Oak, Pine, and Eucalyptus forests, and venture into areas of protected National Park and forestry land. The terrain is varied and engaging, with only minimal roadwork, offering a rewarding challenge for experienced riders. Along the way, you may encounter local wildlife, birds, and the raw beauty of nature at its best.
At lunchtime, we pause for a sumptuous picnic in the forest. The menu is mixed and designed to cater for all dietary needs – please inform us of any allergies or restrictions when booking. In the summer months, a minimum of two riders is required for this experience.
Each rider is provided with a bum-bag and water for the ride, and on your return to the stables, you’ll be welcomed back with a complimentary drink – the perfect way to relax and reflect on a memorable day in the saddle.
